The Canberra Brave are one of Australia’s premier ice hockey teams, competing in the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) since 2014.

Our story began in March 2014 when the 33-year-old Canberra Knights were disbanded and AIHL legend Mark Rummukainen led a grassroots community campaign to usher in a new era of elite ice hockey in the capital.

Since then, we’ve embodied resilience, excellence, and passion to achieve 8 finals appearances, 3 Goodall Cups, 4 H Newman Reid Trophies, 3 Canberra Team of the Year awards, and have been ranked as one of Australasia’s Top 10 most successful sports teams twice.

In 2025, we’re embracing the next chapter of our journey with our move to the new AIS Arena. This state-of-the-art, NHL-quality venue represents more than just a new location—it marks the beginning of an exciting new era for the Brave, our fans, and the future of Australian ice hockey.
