The Canberra Brave advises that tomorrow’s AIHL home opener at AIS Arena will not proceed as scheduled following damage sustained to the ice surface during final rink construction works earlier today.

Following assessment, it was determined the rink could not be restored to a condition suitable for elite competition in time for tomorrow’s game.

The decision has been made in the interests of player safety.

The Canberra Brave is working with venue partners and the Australian Ice Hockey League regarding rescheduling arrangements and further updates will be provided as information becomes available.

The AIHL has advised that it will be working with both teams to finalise a rescheduled date as soon as possible.

Next weekend’s scheduled AIHL fixtures against the Newcastle Northstars on 16 and 17 May are expected to proceed as planned.

Members and ticket holders are being contacted directly.
