The Canberra Brave are currently taking applications for the 2027 Internship Program.

Multiple roles are available for the following programs:

Ideal Candidates

We’re looking for enthusiastic, creative and motivated people to join the Canberra Brave Internship Program for the 2027 AIHL season.

Whether your interests lie in social media, sports journalism or content creation, this is an opportunity to contribute to a sporting club with a passionate fan base and a strong connection to the Canberra community.

You don’t need to be an ice hockey expert. We’re looking for people who are eager to learn, contribute ideas and work as part of a team.

Ideal applicants will demonstrate:

  • A strong work ethic, reliability and professionalism.
  • Enthusiasm, initiative and a willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Creativity and an interest in delivering engaging content and fan experiences.
  • Attention to detail, organisation and time management.
  • A collaborative approach and openness to feedback.
  • Availability for rostered home games and relevant role commitments, including evenings and weekends.

Why join the Canberra Brave?

The Canberra Brave brings together elite ice hockey, passionate supporters and an unforgettable game-day atmosphere. Behind every home game is a team working across marketing, media, entertainment and operations to bring that experience to life.

Our 2027 Internship Program offers practical experience contributing to that work. You’ll take on meaningful responsibilities, learn from experienced staff and work alongside people who care about the club and its community.

Depending on your role, you could be capturing game-day and training content content, writing game previews and player stories or supporting interviews and fan engagement opportunities.

Through the program, you’ll have opportunities to:

  • Gain hands-on experience within a national sporting competition.
  • Develop skills in your chosen area through practical work and feedback.
  • Build a portfolio of published content or delivered projects.
  • Learn how marketing, media and entertainment teams collaborate throughout a season.
  • Build professional relationships and industry contacts.
  • Grow your confidence working in a fast-paced sporting environment.

We value teamwork, respect, reliability, creativity and a willingness to learn. Whatever direction your career takes, our aim is to help you leave the program with practical experience, stronger skills and greater confidence in your next step.

Who can apply?

The program is suited to students studying marketing, communications, journalism, media, film, photography, sport management or a related discipline.

Applicants should be able to meet the attendance and availability requirements of their preferred role. Some positions include commitments outside game days, such as content preparation, remote coverage of away games or in-office time with Supercurious, the Brave’s marketing agency.

Please refer to each internship advertisement for specific eligibility criteria, required skills and time commitments.

How to apply

Applications close Monday 25 January 2027 unless filled prior. All applications should be sent to payton.gregor@supercurious.au to be considered.
